Trickles: pattern subtypes

How do we get to 219 trickles?

The counts above are only of "possible inputs" which can be expressed by the ADEPT LION Pools:

  • Ascriptions: 22
  • Descriptions: 22
  • Entities: 52
  • Processes: 15
  • Translations: 48

Then there are "Light Nature" trickles that do not iterate and cannot serve as inputs:

  • Entities of Light : 30
  • Ascriptions of Light: 12
  • Descriptions of Light: 12
  •  Processes of Light: 6

This gives us 60 non-iterative trickles to add to the 159 iterative trickles for a total of 219.

First and Second Consideration Entity Inputs for the Thing and Use Channels.

Thing and Use Channels

Entities as inputs to the Thing or Use Channel

  • The Thing [t] channel conveys an Entity as the intrinsic aspect of the occasion being created.
  • The Use [u] channels conveys an Entity as the extrinsic aspect of the occasion being created.

Subject and Object Channels

Ascriptions as inputs to the Subject Channel And Descriptions as inputs to the Object Channel

  • The Subject [x] channel conveys an Ascription as the individual aspect of the occasion being created.
  • The Object [y] channels conveys a Description as the grouping aspect of the occasion being created.

Third Consideration Process Inputs for the Source Channel.

source Channel

Processes as inputs to the Source Channel

  • The Source [x] channel conveys a Process as the contextual aspect of the occasion being created.

First, Second and Third Consideration Translation Inputs for the Word Channel.

Variety and Word Channels

STRING LITERAL VALUES AS INPUTS TO THE VARIETY CHANNEl and Translations as inputs to the Word Channe

  • The Variety [v] channel conveys a String Literal Value as the symbolic aspect of the occasion being created.
  • The Word [w] channel conveys a Translation as the semantic aspect of the occasion being created.

Meaning

Question: but what do the trickles mean?

But what do they mean?

So, we have 219 trickle subtypes to serve as building blocks of meaning, but what does each one mean?  In ADEPT LION, the assignment of meaning is not arbitrary.  It is based on a systematic evaluation of the pattern's channels to derive a specific interpretation.:

  • For the Aether (H) and Translation (T) Natures, meaning is evaluated through the relation of predication as expressed by the thing and use channels.
  • For the Light Nature (L), meaning is evaluated through the concept of extension as marked by an indeterminate source channel that identifies a dimension.
  • For the Ground Nature (G), meaning is evaluated through the lens of schema as marked by a determinate and distinct source channel that identifies a context.
  • For the Being Nature (B), meaning is evaluated through the lens of transaction as marked by a determinate and indistinct source channel that identifies an intention.
